Baca Bareng BBI 2013

Baru tahu kalo BBI mengadakan event baca bareng sepanjang tahun ini.

Berikut listnya:

Februari sampai April gue kelewatan. Jadi baru ikutan bulan Mei saja 🙂

MEI: 1. Klasik-kontemporer, buku-buku yang ditulis di abad 20 atau 21 dan telah menjadi klasik, atau buku-buku klasik yang mengangkat tema modern. Contoh: One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest – Ken Kasey, A Clockwork Orange – Anthony Burgess, Lord of The Flies – William Goldman, The Unbearable Lightness of Being – Milan Kundera

The Great Gasby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

2. Kumpulan cerpen, baik yang ditulis oleh pengarang lokal maupun internasional, atau yang ditulis dalam masa modern atau klasik. Contoh: The Elephant Vanishes – Haruki Murakami, A Good Man is Hard To Find – Flannery O’ Connor, What We Talk About When We Talk About Love – Raymond Carver

JUNI: 1. Sastra Eropa, buku-buku yang ditulis oleh pengarang yang berasal dari negeri-negeri Eropa. Contoh: War and Peace – Victor Hugo, Don Quixote – Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, The Stranger – Albert Camus,  The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared – Jonas Jonasson

2. Romance, buku-buku yang menceritakan kisah cinta, baik fiksi maupun non-fiksi, modern atau klasik, novel atau kumpulan cerpen, dewasa atau young-adult (atau genre baru, new-adult). Boleh disertakan tema lain seperti fantasi, thriller atau lainnya. Contoh: Atonement – Ian McEwan, Never Let Me Go – Kazuo Ishiguro, The Truth about Forever – Sarah Dessen, Beautiful Disaster – Jamie McGuire

JULI: 1. Buku anak, boleh bergambar atau tidak. Buku-buku yang dulu menjadi favorit semasa kecil atau remaja. Contoh: Where the Sidewalk Ends – Shel SIlverman, Oh, the Places You’ll Go! – Dr. Seuss, Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret – Judy Blume

2. Historical-fiction, buku-buku yang berlatar historis. Contoh: Memoirs of A Geisha – Arthur Golden, The Pillars of the Earth – Ken Follet, The Thorn Birds – Colleen McCullough

AGUSTUS: 1.Sastra Indonesia atau buku yang ditulis penulis Indonesia. Contoh: Hujan di Bulan Juni – Sapardi Djoko Damono, Aku Ini Binatang Jalang – Chairil Anwar, Ronggeng Dukuh Paruh – Ahmad Tohari

2. Buku bertema perang, baik Perang Salib/Perang Sipil/ Perang Dingin/Perang Dunia Pertama/Perang Dunia Kedua. Contoh: A Farewell to Arms – Ernest Hemingway, Schindler’s List – Thomas Keneally, Fundamentals of Guerrilla Warfare – A.H. Nasution

SEPTEMBER: 1. Buku biografi tokoh terkenal. Contoh: Steve Jobs – Walter Issacson, Into The WIld – Jon Krakuer, Frida – Hayden Herrera

–> Gue masih utang banyak baca buku biografi. Masih punya Elizabeth Taylor: The Last Star by Kitty Kelley nih 🙂

2. Distopia (bukan YA). Contoh: Brave New World – Aldous Huxley, Fahrenheit 451 – Ray Bradbury, The Handmaid’s Tale – Margaret Atwood, 1984 – George Orwell

OKTOBER:1.  Buku-buku finalis atau pemenang Man Booker Prize. Contoh: Wolf Hall – Hillary Mantel, Aib – J. M. Coetzee, Vernon God Little – DBC Pierre, Bring Up The Bodies – Hillary Mantel

2. Buku debut penulis baru, baik yang ditulis di tahun 2013 atau yang baru menulis satu buku. Contoh: Blue Romance – Sheva, Cinder – Marissa Mayer

NOVEMBER: 1. Graphic novel atau komik, baik terbitan lokal atau internasional. Contoh: Blanket – Craig Thompson, Batman: Year One – Frank Miller, Fullmetal Alchemist – Hiromu Arakawa

–> Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead versi graphic novel, siap-siap klepek-klepek sama Dimitri.

2. Thriller/horor, buku-buku yang mengandung suspens atau yang berlatar horor. Contoh: SIlence of The Lambs – Thomas Harris, Let The Right One In – John A. Lindqvist, The Shining – Stephen King

DESEMBER: Bebas (anggota BBI buka polling sendiri)
